Yolanda Moreno Macias of Moore lost her battle with cancer on December 13, 2021. She was born on June 6, 1948, in NYC to parents Emerita Fiol-Vazquez and Julian Moreno. Being a very young mom, Yolanda went into the workforce by the age of 16 and held various positions with escalating responsibilities. Coming to Oklahoma she would find true love and meaning in her life. Yolanda met Louis Macias at a nightclub in Oklahoma City in early 1970s, seeing a natural dancer in Yolanda, Louis introduced her into the world of dance. Together they built a legacy of dance in Macias Dance Center. In those walls, they created a community of family, and touched the lives of many, she welcomed everyone. Yolanda spent over 40 years teaching hundreds of Oklahomans how to Ballroom and Country and Western dance. She enjoyed performing and competing, as well as gardening and decorating her home and studio.
