William "Skip" Buntz

William James (Skip) Buntz was born October 4, 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri.  He passed away January 20, 2021 at the age of 71. His parents were Billie Jim Buntz and Dorothy Lucille (Paul) Buntz, and he was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother later in life, Jean Buntz. Skip was the oldest of 4 brothers, and a stepsister who joined the family later. Skip graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Business and had a career that included sales and service positions as well as computer software and programming which was his passion.  Having graduated in the early 70’s before personal computers existed, Skip taught himself computer programming and used these skills throughout his career and personal life. He also owned his own business in monogramming and engraving.   Skip showed perseverance and courage in fighting very serious illness over the years, and his attitude was positive and encouraging to others. He also had a unique sense of humor and loved to use his humor to bring smiles to others, even new acquaintances. 

Skip met his future wife, Rose Hsu, in Oklahoma City and they were married in 2000. Skip and Rose made their home in Oklahoma City and Moore. Skip is survived by his wife Rose of the home, and stepdaughters Cybele Hsu (partner Amar), and Joy Hemphill (husband James).  In addition, Skip is survived by his brothers Paul and wife Pam of Durant, Mark and wife Lori of Tulsa, Douglas (Doug) of Duncanville, Texas, and stepsister Lori Porter of Oklahoma City. He also is survived by nephews Brian Buntz (wife Linda), Jason Buntz, and nieces Jennifer Pierce (husband Greg), Courtney Sokolosky (husband Connor), Lindsay Trentman (husband Hal), Jessica Conaway (husband Jason) and Lyric Porter of Oklahoma City.
