Thomas Edward Valentas, 70, passed away on 25 May 2019 at his home in Moore, OK.
Tom was born in Rockford, IL on 20 October 1948 to Edward and Eunice Valentas. He joined the US Air Force and traveled the world primarily on the E-3 AWACS. He met his wife of over 37 years, Teresita, while he was in the Philippines. They lived and established a family in Oklahoma for the remainder of his Air Force career. He retired after serving his country for 28 years at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and continued his career as a civil servant with the Air Force managing the Technical Orders for the VC-25, E-4B, and the E-3. He loved his job and took great pride in the publications that he delivered. His coworkers knew Tom to utilize his ruler to ensure that every detail was correct.
Outside of work, Tom enjoyed his routines. Visits to the stores on Saturdays, grocery shopping on Sundays, and walking on the treadmill, dinner, reading, watching shows, then to bed on the weekdays. He loved his family and would always find a way to help them through any situation that arose. His wisdom, attention to detail, and planning will be greatly missed.
Left to carry on Tom’s legacy are his wife, Tess Valentas; son Chris and wife Kiley Valentas; daughter Ashley Valentas; sisters Shirley Hursch, Joanne Welte and Barbara Gossard; in-laws Perla and Jose Gonzalez, Danilo and Melisa Serrano, Evangeline Gamboa, and Priscilla Serrano; Aunt Rosemary Valentas; grandchildren Eloise, Walter, and Izetta Valentas; and his dog, Nigel.
A memorial service will be held at Moore Funeral and Cremation at 400 SE 19th Street in Moore, OK on Saturday, 8 June 2019 at 11:00 am.
