Ruth Genevieve Allen

August 16, 1927 ~ March 18, 2022 (age 94) 94 Years Old

Tribute

Ruth Genevieve (Randall) Ruemelin Allen, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 94 on Friday, March 18, 2022. Ruth was born August 16, 1927, to Oscar and Daisy (Agur) Randall of Lincoln, Nebraska. She married the love of her life, Bob Lee Ruemelin on January 14, 1951, and then adopted their sweet daughter, Mary, at the age of 6 weeks. The Ruemelin Family bounced around a lot, due to them taking on the adventure of the “construction work life” and moved a total of 57 times during their 44 years of marriage. Ruth was a seamstress, but her main focus was her family. Like many marriages, they endured several struggles – theirs being Bob’s diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease in 1969 and later Ruth became a breast cancer survivor in 1974. Raising her child and caring for her sick husband was a struggle, but not once did she complain and made sure to spend time with family and have fun.

Almost every weekend was spent at the lake camping, fishing, and skiing. Ruth would always cook up a big pan of fried chicken and bake some cookies, then off they would go! The holidays were always special, and Ruth would go all out on candy making - their kitchen would turn into a candy factory! Every Fourth of July was spent with special friends. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas was spent in Nebraska with the family playing card games, eating homemade candy, and watching Nebraska football. She loved to send and receive cards and letters, tend to her irises, naked ladies, and peonies, as well as dancing the jitterbug. She started going to dance “parties” after Bob had passed away in 1995, where she met William Allen. They married in 2004 and were inseparable. They bought a travel trailer and spent a lot of time in Rockport, Texas. Ruth loved dogs and always had at least one in her home her entire life. Birds were her favorite thing to watch on the back porch while the Oklahoma winds would blow gently. She would sit there for hours. She was an artist who loved to draw, paint and she was a beautiful seamstress - sewing most of her and Mary’s clothes growing up. She also made several outfits for the grandkids’ school functions and Halloween costumes. As her grandkids grew older, she attended every event possible, from sporting events to Ag shows, showing her love and support. But most importantly, she enjoyed spending all her time with family and friends. She would want you to do the same.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Daisy Randall, her sisters, and her former husbands, Bob Ruemelin and William Allen. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Robison of Moore, granddaughter Amber Robison, grandson Ryan Robison and his wife Caitlyn, granddaughter Rylee Robison, and her great-grandson, Ryder Robison. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Donna Acton, and numerous nieces and nephews that were very special to her.
