Pamela Jeane Waitman, 72, of Dibble, died Thursday, July 27, 2023, in Lexington, Oklahoma. The daughter of Horace Wells and Willie Mae Wells (Ashford), Pam was born on July 9, 1951, in Purcell, Oklahoma.
Pam graduated Salutatorian of the Dibble Class of 1969 and graduated with honors in nursing from Oklahoma City Community College in 1994. Pam married the love of her life, Tony Waitman, on April 5, 1971, in Clay County, Texas.
Pam had many careers in her lifetime. After high school she was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, owned and operated a ceramic shop in Dibble, was oilfield receptionist and bookkeeper for Nipper Drilling and W.W. Drilling, was a substitute teacher and an in-home caregiver, and later had a long career as a highly respected RN at both Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation Center and Southwest Medical Center.
Pam was a gifted artist. Her hobbies in painting, crochet, macramé, and sewing eventually moved to exquisite works of art in handmade quilts, specialty purses, and leather works. More than working with her hands to serve others and create art, she loved Jesus and her family.
