Marcia Lee Ward

Marcia Ward left this life for her eternal home on Friday, October 15, 2021 with her daughter, Kathy, by her side. She was born March 7, 1941 in Pampa, Tx.
Marcia is preceded in death by her parents, George and Mildred McConnell, her husband Jay Ward, and her sister Pat Downey.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Ward; nephews Jack Baird of Oklahoma City, Dwain and his wife Tina Downey of Amarillo, Tx, Joe and his wife Vicki Downey of Roebuck, SC, and Randy and his wife Alicia Downey from Amarillo, Tx. She also leaves behind some very dear friends; Sue Green, Pat Carbahal, Mary Thele, David Thele, Mary Hixson, and Cheryl Pooler.
Marcia led a simple but full life. She attended St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for many years and was active in the Alter Society, Catholic Women’s Activity Club, and ACCW. She helped with many functions at the church.
Marcia loved to shop at garage sales and thrift shops, and she enjoyed eating out with her daughter and many of her friends.
A word from her daughter:
“I will miss my mom and she will be missed by so many people. I’m grateful that she will no longer be in pain, but that she is free and in the loving arms of Jesus. Thank you to all the staff at Excell Home Health, Oklahoma Palliative and Hospice Care, and Crystal Place Assisted Living. All the staff took great care of Marcia during her stay there. I’d also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the directors and staff at my workplace, Village on the Park. Your kindness and prayers will never be forgotten.

A visitation will be held at Moore Funeral and Cremation in Moore, OK on Wednesday, October 20th, 2021 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. A funeral service will be held in the chapel at Moore Funeral and Cremation on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
