Jonathan "Bug" Lucas III

January 26, 1961 ~ January 1, 2023 (age 61) 61 Years Old

Tribute

On Sunday, January 1, 2023, Jonathan III Lucas, loving father, son, and brother, passed away at the age of 61. Jonathan was born on January 26, 1961 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Jonathan and Lois Lucas. He graduated from Del City High School in 1979. He also received his certification in Auto Mechanics that same year from Mid-Del Votech and worked as a mechanic for several years.

Jonathan had a passion for cars and motorcycles. He also had an appreciation for art, and loved fishing. He almost always had a rod and reel with him. If he thought that there might be fish in a spot where he saw some water, he was definitely going to find out. He also loved old school music, like “Earth, Wind and Fire”, “Maze”, and “The Ohio Players”, just to name a few. Jonathan really cared about people. He would always try to help someone in need, even when he was in need himself.

Jonathan is survived by his mother, Lois K. Caldwell; daughter, Crystal Gaston and her significant other Donkawa Larmouth; grandchildren, La’Tavia S. Gaston, Christopher A. Moore, Tavione J. Gaston, Ja’Laylah P. Rogers, and Kayzlee D. Finley; brothers, Gregory Lucas and his wife Natasha, Kevin Lucas and his wife Angela, and Jon-Michael Jones and his wife Nina; along with several additional extended family members and friends.

Jonathan is preceded in his death by his father, Jonathan Lucas Jr.; sister, Sherry Ann Lucas; brother, Calvin Lucas; along with several additional extended family members and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12pm on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Moore Funeral and Cremation. After the service a meal will be served by the Lucas family and then interment will follow at Riverside Gardens Cemetery.
