Johnny Woodring

May 3, 1980 ~ August 15, 2022 (age 42) 42 Years Old

Tribute

Johnny Woodring, of Moore, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 15, 2022 at the age of 42. He was born on May 3, 1980 in Midwest City, Oklahoma to Garland and Mary (Ledford) Woodring. Johnny had a great passion for the Oklahoma Sooners. He also really enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and the Green Bay Packers. He took any chance given to express his great dislike for the Dallas Cowboys. He was the biggest sports fan. He played football and baseball as a kid and played softball as an adult. He even coached his different men’s teams throughout the years. In 2020 he decided to coach his wife’s women’s softball team which he quickly learned was very different than coaching a mens team, to say the least. Johnny was an avid deer hunter and loved to fish when he got the chance. He dabbled a little in his golf game as well. His family meant everything to him. Johnny was blessed to have met the love of his life as a young child. Johnny and Jamie grew up together. They went to church together (where Johnny played the drums), and even attended the same daycare before that. It was during a young age, at vacation bible school, that Johnny knew that Jamie would be his wife. They were best friends from the time they were 16 until the age of 19, and that’s when their relationship evolved. Within that year of their relationship changing, they were married on December 1, 2001. In 2008 their prayers for children were answered and they adopted two beautiful children. Their daughter Angela, and then their son, Bradley. He coached his son’s baseball and football teams and attended choir concerts and recitals for his daughter. He was a very proud dad. He loved to make his family and friends laugh. He was the center of attention and the biggest goofball. He loved to dance and make his wife blush which he then would get the biggest kick out of. Johnny worked at Tinker Air Force Base, as a supervisor, on the B-1 Bomber which he was so very proud of. He loved his job and worked hard to climb the ladder. He really enjoyed and thought highly of his work family. He had the biggest heart of anyone you would ever meet. He was the best and most amazing husband, son, brother, father, and friend. Johnny’s absence leaves a hole in this world that no one can ever fill.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Jamie Woodring; children, Angela Woodring and Bradley Woodring; parents, Garland and Mary (Ledford) Woodring; brother, Jimmy (Maggie) Woodring; along with two nieces and two nephews; and a plethora of friends.

Johnny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Francis Ledford and Delmar and Coriena “Bell” Woodring.
