Donald Lee Willison Sr

Donald Lee Willison Sr., of Moore, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022 at the age of 80 after a long health battle, surrounded by his loving family. Don was born on January 3, 1942 in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania. He was adopted and raised by his grandparents, Mead and Verdie Willison. He married the love of his life, Lois Clark, on December 12, 1964 in Cabot, Pennsylvania. They were blessed to raise their children, Don Jr and Wendi together and got to enjoy watching their grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up. Don spent 10 years of his life being the morning show radio announcer for WLEM in Emporium, Pennsylvania. Throughout his life he held many small jobs but loved starting and running his own business. After suffering from a stroke, he could no longer safely do the job he loved, so he retired and he and his wife moved to Oklahoma to be closer to their son and grandchild. There was nothing better in Don’s life than being able to go just down the street to see his granddaughter. He loved running errands with his Jack Russell companion, Sugar, before he passed away. When he wasn’t with his family, he was enjoying reading and watching NASCAR. He also loved to collect cigars. He didn’t necessarily smoke them, he spent more time chewing them than anything else, but he grew quite the collection of cigars in his lifetime. Don was a loving and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Don is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lois Willison; children, Donald (Marilyn) Willison Jr. and Wendi (Bill) Stover; grandchildren, Elizabeth R. Willison, Jennifer L. Elbert, and Matthew Stover; great grandchildren, Blakely Elbert and Brooklyn Elbert, brother, Steve Willison; along with several other step-siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Don was preceded in death by his loving grandparents who raised him, Mead and Verdie Willison.
