Dacota Nacole Connelly, of Moore, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022 at the age of 19 in Jacksonville, Florida. Dacota was born on October 19, 2002 in Norman, Oklahoma to Mandy Connelly. Dacota was the most loving and compassionate person one could ever hope to meet and was known for caring for others more than herself. Once during an archery competition, she gave her first place prize of a bow to the second-place winner because that person was sad and didn’t have a bow of their own.
Dacota was an empathetic listener. Everyone knew they could come to her with their secrets and problems, and she could be trusted. Cleanliness was very important to her, and her room was always spotless. She loved music and was learning to play the guitar. She had a unique connection with animals. Dacota always wanted a little sister and was incredibly happy when Paige came into her life. They formed a strong bond that made the hard times easier and easy times more fun.
Dacota was a blessing to this world and she will be greatly missed.
Dacota is preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Russell and Cleta Connelly, Nevlin and Christine Whybark, and Horace and Estelle Largent; grandparents Bonnie Connelly, and Joe Scurlock.
Dacota is survived by her loving mother, Mandy Connelly; grandparents, Ginny Skurlock and Danny Connelly; sister, Paige Riddle; aunt, Crystal Cornwell; uncles, Matt Connelly and David (April) Connelly; cousins, Kristen, Hunter, Taylor, Andy, Liam, Maddie, and Adam; godfather, Frank Kellert; along with many other aunts, uncles, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3pm on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Moore Funeral and Cremation.
